Years ago, I read a book called, "As A Man Thinketh" by James Allen. It's an old classic and if you haven't read it, I encourage you to read it...multiple times!
In the book, Allen shares a truth that often goes unmentioned. He said: "You don't get in life what you WANT, you get in life who you ARE." In other words, you get in life that which harmonizes with the person that you have become.
I'm not talking about self-worth. What I'm talking about is that you achieve and attract results relative to your level of Beliefs, Skills, Strategies, and Actions directed toward exciting and purposeful goals. Have you developed yourself equal to the results that you want? Like attracts like! Virtue begets virtue. Charity begets charity. Goodness harmonizes with goodness. Kindness attracts kindness.

"Let a man [women] radically alter his thoughts, and he will be astonished at the rapid transformation it will affect the material conditions of his life. Men [women] imagine that thought can be kept secret, but it cannot; it rapidly crystallizes into habit, and habit solidifies into circumstance.” –James Allen
So the question is, are you attracting or unconsciously dispelling the results you really want? You must equal to the frequency, that would bring that result into your life. It's simple.
Self-worth is innate. Self-worth does not increase or decrease based on your level of performance. You are God's greatest miracle...regardless of your level of performance. However, in terms of the marketplace, achieving tangible results, you must become equal to the results you desire.
Unfortunately, most people live by the concept of "Have. Do. Be." They think, "Once I have it, then I'll be the person that I need to be." Right? No! In the laws of success, you must first – "Be. Do. Have." You can't say to the wood stove, "Stove, if you give me heat, I'll put wood in you." That's not how the real world works. You must put the effort first.
“In all human affairs there are efforts and there are results, and the strength of the effort is the measure of the result. Chance is not. “Gifts,” powers, material, intellectual, and spiritual possessions are the fruits of effort; they are the thoughts completed, objects accomplish, visions realized." –James Allen
You must act on faith, believing that your steps into the unknown are going to pay off. It takes faith. You must believe in something specific and then take action. As you plant those seeds and nourish them, eventually they will bear a fruit. Right? It's a pretty simple concept. We get so caught up in believing, "I'll do it when I see it" or "When I see it, I will believe it." No, no, no, no. Here's the reality. You will SEE it when you BELIEVE it and ACT accordingly!"
